Supervised by: Associate Pastors Jeremy Yong and Hugo Torres, and Rocky Seto, Senior Pastor

Rocky Seto has been serving as Senior Pastor at Evergreen since 2019. Growing up in the San Gabriel Valley, Rocky's primary goal in life was to play football at the University of Southern California. After relentlessly pursuing and achieving his dream of playing football at USC, and on an athletic scholarship, he realized that finding his identity in football was futile in light of eternity. In God's sovereign providence, Christian teammates talked to Rocky about the good news of Jesus and he came to understand that life was about living for and honoring Christ as Lord and Savior. In his senior year at USC (1998) Rocky repented of his sins, trusted in Christ, and eventually joined Evergreen in 2000.

After marrying Sharla (the athlete of the family who played soccer for USC, and who also became a Christian during university) and having four children, the Seto family moved to Seattle in order for Rocky to join the coaching staff of the Seattle Seahawks, under Pete Carrol.  As Rocky’s coaching career progressed, he came to serve as the Assistant Head Coach, and helped the team become Super Bowl XLVIII champions.

However, as great as coaching was going, Rocky considered ministry in the church. After 18 years of coaching football, Rocky experienced a call to ministry and returned to Evergreen in 2017, this time as one of the church's pastors.

As the church's preaching pastor, Rocky's primary calling is to disciple the church through the preaching the Word of God (2 Tim 4:2). Rocky holds a B.S. and M.A. from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Theology from Liberty University, and a Doctor of Ministry in Expositional Preaching from The Master's Seminary.

Jeremy Yong serves as an Associate Pastor of Discipleship at Evergreen, with special emphasis in overseeing Evergreen’s public services, Adult Education, and the Young Adult ministry. By the grace of God, he came to repent of his sin and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior through the witness of his mother, and the Chinese church he attended in Orange County. Growing up in Southern California, he attended Biola University. He holds an M.Div. and D.Min. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY), and is a current Ph.D. student in theology at Gateway Seminary. Jeremy has been in the ministry for over 20 years, serving in a few different areas in the U.S. (CA, KY, Washington, D.C.), as well as overseas in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He also served as Adjunct Theology Professor for a number of years at Biola University, Talbot School of Theology. He is married to his childhood friend, Melanie, and together they have four children (college down to junior high age). Jeremy enjoys experiencing other cultures, reading, exercising, and dry-aging steaks for his family and friends.

Hugo Torres serves as the pastor of Local Outreach. He came to a saving faith after hearing the gospel being preached during a midweek service in a Spanish speaking church that he was attending for three months in the city of Pomona, CA. He has a Bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry and earned his M. Div. from The Master’s Seminary (Sun Valley, CA). Hugo has been in the ministry for about 20 years, pastoring two Spanish speaking congregations prior to joining Evergreen Baptist church of San Gabriel Valley in 2022. He is married to Jackie, and together they have three children. Hugo enjoys listening to world news, eating stuffed French toast and making it for breakfast for his family.
